Statoil established its Indonesia office back in 2007 and has since then built an exploration portfolio in a systematic manner. 

Oil and gas exploration in Indonesia is now shifting to the eastern region of the country, and most of the new areas are located offshore. This is a potential growth area for Statoil as a leading international deep water operator.

2007
• January – Kuma PSC signed 
• March – Karama PSC signed 
• August – Statoil’s Jakarta office established 

2011
• May – North Makassar Strait PSC farm-in 
• May – Halmahera-Kofiau PSC farm-in 
• May – West Papua IV PSC farm-in 
• November – North Ganal PSC concession round 
• November – Obi PSC concession round 
• November – Halmahera II PSC concession round 
• December – Halmahera II PSC signed 

2012
 • July – Aru PSC signed 


Statoil has a sales and marketing office for crude oil and natural gas liquids in Singapore, which is also responsible for other downstream activities in Asia. 

The Singapore office also hosts the main regional office for E&P and Natural Gas business development in the region.
